BV-FAPESP: research projects supported in this center
CEMol In the Media: news about the center
The Research Center of Molecular Engineering for Advanced Materials (CEMol) is a Research, Innovation, and Dissemination Center (RIDC FAPESP) based at CNPEM. It brings together researchers from prestigious institutions such as USP, UFABC, UFSCar, UNIFESP, UNESP, EMBRAPA, and IPEN, in a multi-institutional initiative focused on cutting-edge science.
The work of CEMol is based on the concepts of molecular engineering, which explore the chemical and physical properties of atoms and molecules for the planned design of new materials and systems. To achieve this, it employs advanced techniques in colloidal synthesis, characterization methods in nanotechnology, and data science resources, integrating different fields of knowledge in an interdisciplinary approach.
The mission of CEMol is to conduct excellent research in molecular engineering applied to advanced materials, aiming to promote technological development, generate innovations in energy, environment, health, sustainability, and quantum technologies, train highly qualified human resources, and strengthen Brazil's position at the frontier of knowledge.
